Èvora, Portugal part 2 – Palace of King Manuel I.

The Palace of King Manuel I. was a residence of the Portuguese Kings in Portugal. At begin of the history of the Palace it was a monastery of Franciscans Monks, in the 13th century, the time start when the Kings of Portugal use it for residence and start to build monastery to a Palace. In the 14th century it was build to a Renaissance Palace. Under King Manuel I. come some popular Guests, like the playwright Gil Vicente and the Explorer Vasco da Gama. The Palace was all time in build since the 13th century and a never ending Artwork. After wars and renewing of the City the most parts of the Palace was destroyed.
