Camino de Santiago: My 37-Stage Journey from Sevilla

Pilgrimage Day 30: Sevilla to Santiago de Compostela, Spain

A long stage of 37.5 km with beautiful landscapes, through roads, country lanes and road sections. Today is characterized by the ascent to Padornelo (1,365 m) with 360 metres of altitude difference over 9 kilometers.

Pilgrimage Day 2: Sevilla to Santiago de Compostela, Spain

The route was going across the Guillena and than across some Olive and Orange farms. Later come a stone trees wood and the sun burn with 24 degree's and no wind, like yesterday. Our water was going to end, but we had luck and on the route was a drinking water fountain.

After the Coffee we walked to the Cathedral of Sevilla to get our first stamp in our pilgrim credentials - we needed to wait until 8 am until the Cathedral open the doors.

The Monte church, built in the 18th century, features eighteenth- and eighteenth-century architecture. In the left side chapel is the tomb of Charles of Habsburg, the last emperor of Austria, Hungary and Bohemia.
