This content details a pilgrimage along the Camino de Santiago from Sevilla to Santiago de Compostela, undertaken from November 11 to December 17, 2022, across 37 stages. At this stage we had a short stage, somewhat monotonous and with very moderate slopes. We can easily extend it to Calzadilla de los Barros...
Our hiking start with deep clouds and rain. We walk across an old castle...
Before we started to walk, we was in the post office and had sent some equipment back.
This day we start at 7:45 am short before the sunrise started. The route today is in 3 parts....
The route was going across the Guillena and than across some Olive and Orange farms. Later come a stone trees wood and the sun burn with 24 degree's and no wind, like yesterday. Our water was going to end, but we had luck and on the route was a drinking water fountain.
After the Coffee we walked to the Cathedral of Sevilla to get our first stamp in our pilgrim credentials - we needed to wait until 8 am until the Cathedral open the doors.
The church of La Candelaria in Zafra was built in 1527 on the initiative of Count III of Feria, as a replacement for the old church that stood in what is now Plaza Grande in Zafra.
