Pleasant stage in rural and mountainous surroundings over 32.5 km. Today the route climbs up a gravel road to the Alto de A Canda (1,265 m), an ascent of 310 meters over 4 km from the pilgrimage site of La Tuiza. Apart from a few short sections, the ascent is gentle.
It took me just over 2 hours to cover the 4 km, as the path was criss-crossed by rivers and streams. You had to be careful not to go swimming.
At the highest point of the climb is the transition to Galicia. The villages we hiked through had little or no services.
