Pilgrimage Day 26: Sevilla to Santiago de Compostela, Spain

Quiet and pleasant stage of 35.6 km in a solitary environment with moderate slopes. Although cereal fields predominate here, the Mediterranean forests break the monotony of the previous stages.

At Granja de Moreruela, I leave the main Via de la Plata trail and continue towards Santiago de Compostela on the Camino Monzarab – Sanabres. After the bridge of Quintos, which crosses the river Esla, I have to overcome a steep path.

Otherwise, the rest of the day is on long and comfortable dirt roads. At the entrance of Tábara we see the beautiful church of Santa María, famous for the Codex Beato de Tábara.
