From Grimaldo to Galisteo I pilgrimaged 19.7 km, since I had not paid attention on the way, I made a detour and at the end of the stage I had pilgrimaged 23.5 km.
Galisteo is a small town with about 1000 inhabitants. The town is still completely surrounded by its medieval walls and was declared a World Heritage Site in 1996. The first documented mention dates back to 1217.
Galisteo was administered by the Kings of León and was a strategically important place on the border with Portugal.
