Evorá, Portugal part 7, Evora Museum

The Archbishop residence of the 16th Century is now the Museum of Evora, this was created in 1915. You will find it between the Roman temple of Evora and the Cathedral of Evora. The Museum show the culture and the history of Evora. It Start in the Late – Neolithic time end finish in the 20th Century, across the times of Iron – time, Moors, Romans, the time of the Kings in Evora. In the 1st Floor is a Gallery with Pictures of some epochs of Flemish and Portuguese painters. The highlights is the “Life of the Virgin,” a 13-panel series of images that make up a single work painted in 1500, illustrating the life of the Virgin Mary. It was once part of Évora’s cathedral and is one of the largest Flemish retables in the world. In the ground Floor you will find the Roman parts with old sculptures and stone Monuments, in the underground the Museum have an Archilogical Part from the Roman time. Also you find there Items from the Neolithic and Iron time.
