The Bridge of the 25th April was build in 1966 and is with 2278 meters the 3rd longest Suspension Bridge in the World. Portuguese call the bridge only “Ponte” whats mean Bridge. It was the first bridge across the Tejo River. First name of the bridge was “Salazar Bridge”, after the Carnation Revolution at the 25th April 1974 the bridge get the name the day of the Revolution “25th April”. The bridge was build by the same company this build the “Golden Gate Bridge” in San Francisco.
